The Coach House Wedding Venue
The old coach houses and stables
have been renovated into a
magnificent banqueting hall with seating for 130 people and a spacious mezzanine
floor upstairs, where wedding ceremonies for up to 100 guests can take place.
The
restored Coach House is a dramatic combination of ancient and modern, with the
main hall dominated by a beautiful French tapestry and overlooked by a mezzanine
floor with glass balustrade, itself reached by a glass and oak staircase; the
mezzanine is ideal for wedding ceremonies for up to about 100 guests and the tables downstairs
can be
then be laid up and decorated in advance. It can also be
used for drinks before your wedding breakfast, for the orchestra
and dancing, or there are comfortable rattan chairs for sitting out. At the one
end of the mezzanine floor, there are French windows and a balcony overlooking
the historic carp pool with a stunning 30 foot water feature.
The
hall is light and airy, as the huge original archway, through which the horse
drawn coaches would once pass, is now glazed, giving magical views over the
lawns and gardens and the 17th century dovecote. So many choices are
here for those memorable wedding photographs - even a pretty, shaded arbour
complete with a two seater swing! Most of the illumination in The Coach House is
from spotlights in the roof, creating gentle reflected light; there are also two
huge chandeliers, which can be decorated with flowers and trailing ivy.
The
three original coach house doors are now glazed and, on warm summer evenings,
slide open onto a flagstone terrace, bordered by the original cobbles, saved during
the restoration of the courtyard; the original clock in the clock tower, made by
Thomas Blakeway of Rushbury in 1753, still accurately chimes the hours. The
Italian limestone floor is warmed by underfloor heating and part of the original
stabling has been converted into a modern kitchen.
Fees for exclusive use of The Coach House are set out below and include the spectacular Bridal
Suite, overlooking The Coach House and the lakes, for the bride and groom for the wedding night. A
commercial kitchen, tables and chairs are
also included in the price.
We work exclusively with
Country House Wedding
Venues, who can arrange viewing appointments or you can ring direct on 01584

Catering & Wedding Co-ordination
Arrange your day exactly as you wish and you are welcome to provide your own
drink - no corkage charges!
Wedding catering is provided several approved caterers,
Pippa & Willem of The Ludlow Catering Company,
Sue Hinks,
Davenport House &
Flavours Events.
Wedding catering at The Coach House can
only be undertaken by
an approved
caterer. The reason is that the success of your wedding depends on the
quality
of the catering and the arrangements on the day, so we don't want to take risks.
If none of these caterers
is available or can't cater to your taste, there may
be other caterers that we can recommend as we do add new ones from time to time;
please ask. For full co-ordination
of your wedding or event, we recommend
Portcullis Event
Management. Their experienced team will guide you from early planning and
choosing professional and reliable suppliers, through to personally managing
your day. Portcullis can arrange your catering, provide your reception drinks
and wine and also offer a full bar service. In addition they work with an
extensive list of entertainers and wedding suppliers.
Music
Please note that there is a planning
restriction which means that music must end at 11.30pm.

A quote from the
bridegroom in June 2009
"We just wanted to drop you a short note to express our deepest
gratitude for helping to make our wedding at Delbury Hall one of the happiest
days of our lives.
Within our family there have been 6 weddings in the last 2 years, one of which
was in Venice and another in South Africa, and all our guests have commented on
how fabulous the venue was and how much they enjoyed a proper Shropshire
wedding! Your help and guidance throughout not only
the day but the weeks and months of planning was greatly appreciated."
